Epoch Plans a "Perfect" and "Funk" Spring

A U.S. theatrical deal has been unveiled for revenge noir pic “The Perfect Sleep,” directed by Jeremy Alter and Craig Carlisle’s romantic dramedy “Bob Funk,” L.A.-based production, finance and distribution company Unified Pictures announced Wednesday. Cinema Epoch will handle U.S. distribution for the films. In addition to the theatrical deal, Unified Pictures has secured a home video distribution with Magnolia Home Entertainment for both films. Epoch plans a Spring release.

“Funk,” starring Michael Leydon Campbell, Rachael Leigh Cook and Amy Ryan revolves around the quick-witted and sardonic title character who is fired from his job by his mother. In an attempt to regain his job and his life, he agrees to quit drinking, go to therapy and report to a new boss who just happens to be the girl he has fallen for. “Sleep” starring Roselyn Sanchez, Anton Pardoe and Patrick Bauchau is sent against the backdrop of a noirish dreamscape in which a tortured man returns to the city he swore he would never return to in order to save teh woman he ha always loved yet can never have.

“We could not be any more excited to see both ‘Bob Funk’ and ‘The Perfect Sleep’ achieve major releases through Cinema Epoch,” commented Unified’s president Keith Kjarval in a statement. “Their ability to market and distribute films successfully within a platformed model makes them the perfect fit for both films.”
