More news coming from my family in Austin, as they announce additional titles to unspool at the 2009 SXSW Film Festival. The big highlight of this latest announcement, is Jody Hill’s studio comedy, Observe And Report. The film, written and directed by the Foot Fist Way co-creator, stars Seth Rogen as a mall cop. Warner Bros. will release the film in April, but it debuts at SXSW on Monday, March 16. The film festival runs March 13-21 in Austin. Other new titles are Gary (Helvetica) Hustwit’s latest documentary Objectified, which “documents the creative processes of some of the world’s most influential industrial designers, and looks at how the things they make impact our lives.” Plus, SXSW has announced IDFA award-winner RiP: A Remix Manifesto and the highly-anticipated doc, Winnebago Man (about the viral video sensation). The full lineup is scheduled to be announced in early February, as I know all too well.
