Visit Films "Won't Miss" Sundance Title

The worldwide rights to Ry Russo- Young’s second feature film, “You Wont Miss Me” have been acquired by Visit Films. The film will have its world premiere at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival, and stars Stella Schnabel as a twenty-three-year-old urban misfit recently released from a psychiatric hospital. Russo-Young wrote the script with Schnabel and edited the film with Gil Kofman. Russo-Young’s first feature, “Orphans,” won the Special Jury Prize at the 2007 SXSW Film Festival.

Visit’s Ryan Kampe told indieWIRE today that he will focus on securing domestic distribution for the film this week in Park City and will premiere it for international sales in the future, after premiering the film internationally at a major festival.

“You Wont Miss Me” mixes “non-actors with professionals, verite with staging, and order with abstraction, to paint an evocative picture of a contemporary rebel.” Kitao Sakurai and Ku-Ling Seigel photographed the film, and the original score was composed by Will Bates. The soundtrack features music from indie bands The Virgins and Stylofone.

“Ry Russo-Young is a very talented director who has crafted a true piece of art in tandem with actress and co-writer Stella Schnabel,” said Kampe, in a statement. “As Visit continually strives to work with the most innovative directors and writers, we feel we have found a gem that explores new boundaries.”
