I’m excited for all things SXSW 2009, and I’m truly excited to take part in my first SXSW panel. I’ll get to see what it’s like from the other side of the process, after spending nearly 10 years with a helping hand in programming SXSW panels. Anyway, my panel should be a good one, and that’s more because of the other folks on there with me. It’s a session called “The Future of the DVD and Digital Distribution,” and we’re gonna fix the economic crisis! Just kidding, sorta. We’re gonna speak about the new trends in digital exploitation and how that can run alongside, or rectify, sagging DVD sales.
Joining me on the panel (which is scheduled for Monday, March 16 in room 12AB) are Helvetica director Gary Hustwit, New Video’s Steve Savage, Rick Allen of Snagfilms, and filmmaker/new media champion Morgan Spurlock. The moderator is the terrific tech journalist Scott Kirsner. See you there!
