True/False 2009: Conventioneers and Stranded By Snow

Well, the New Yorkers at True/False assumed we’d be on our way home by now. Or, at home by now. Due to snow storms on the East Coast, though, we’re all stranded for a few extra hours and in some rare cases, a few extra days. The festival wrapped on Sunday night and everyone remarked that it was a great success. Agreed, definitely. The gang here knows how to put on a good show, and knows how to be great hosts. Some final pictures:

(On Sunday afternoon, the festival hosted a work-in-progress screening and discussion for the first 30 or so minutes of Convention, a massive project where 12 filmmakers collaborated on a multi-camera shoot, following the Democratic National Convention last summer. Spearheaded by filmmaker AJ Schnack, center, the project is shaping up nicely and looks like a riveting view into the many aspects of this huge event. AJ was joined by co-producers Britta Erickson, left, and Nate Truesdell, right. It should hit the festival circuit in a few months.)

(Donal Mosher and Michael Palmieri, co-directors of True/False hit October Country, take a stroll down Broadway during the one sunny afternoon of the festival.)

(Over at the gorgeous Missouri Theatre, Participant Media’s Bryan Stamp, left, hangs with Loot director Darius Marder during the closing night reception.)

(Also at the closing night reception: Andy Bichlbaum, one of the directors and stars of Closing Night Film The Yes Men Fix The World, and Cinevegas programmer Mike Plante show off their food.)

(Jamie Johnson, director of the acclaimed doc Sounds Like Teen Spirit, kicks back at the reception after several successful screenings. The UK native will next venture to SXSW.)

(Exhuasted, but excited, True/False co-founder David Wilson pauses for a brief moment at the closing night after-party.)
