Fest vets are familiar with “the book” — a often rudimentary calendar segmented by hours where you planned your film-watching. During our early Filmmaker Mag and indieWIRE days it was a stapled-together book of pages that by the fest’s end was thoroughly marked up, folded, coffee-stained, then promptly lost at some late night party.
B-Side’s Festival Genius, which they first rolled out during SXSW, is now the smart way to plan the fest attack via an online calendar. Their scheduling software will “examine your personal calendar, automatically find and fix schedule conflicts, suggest alternative screening times, and make sure you get to see the films you want to see.”
They’ve just launched their Genius for HotDocs. Check it out here.
