Cinetic Media will launch Cinetic International, a new unit within the Cinetic organization to be run by former President of 2929 International, Shebnem Askin-Schreger. Cinetic Media US-based consulting firm and “a leading provider of strategic advisory services to the entertainment and media industries,” also run talent consulting arm Cinetic Management and the digital rights-focused Cinetic Rights Management. The newly formed Cinetic International will offer a full range of services to existing and potential clients including foreign sales, consulting, financing and packaging capabilities.
“Cinetic has always had an international approach to film finance and distribution,” firm partners John Sloss and Bart Walker, and senior finance executive Matt Littin said in a joint statement. “Territorial sales are part of our core finance business and an adjunct to our North American sales business. Shebnem’s arrival provides us with an opportunity to grow this at the highest level, and offer filmmakers and financiers an expanding menu of possibilities.”
Askin-Schreger steps into her new role effective May 1. As President of 2929 International, the worldwide sales and distribution division of Todd Wagner and Mark Cuban’s 2929 Entertainment, Askin-Schreger was responsible for the international distribution and marketing of such films as George Clooney’s “Good Night and, Good Luck,” Steven Soderbergh’s “Bubble,” James Gray’s “Two Lovers,” and the upcoming “The Road,” directed by John Hillcoat.
