I realize this is pretty much on every single blog in the world right now, but I can’t get over it. On one level, its hard not to admire Lohan’s jovial self-depreciation (its the classiest thing she’s done in years, which isn’t saying a lot)… and the hilarity of the clip’s writing (“I actually have over $400 in the bank and 20,000 Marlboro Miles” was a personal favorite)
But on another level, its kind of sad. This is obviously a desperate attempt from someone who can’t get any work and has essentially been reduced to a tabloid joke to gain some semblance of respect back to her image. And its not like its satirical, either. 90% of what she says about herself in the clip is at least mostly true.
I don’t know about you, though, but I still thought it was pretty affective. It did leave me feeling the mix of pity and admiration that I’m sure Lohan was attempting to gain from it. Whether or not this does anything to help her in the long run, though, remains to be seen. But it does seem to suggest that doing Funny or Die-esque clips is a better alternative to damage control than say, going on Oprah.
