Lynn Shelton’s third feature, the bromance sex comedy Humpday, will continue its wave of goodwill and great reviews onto Cannes in a week and then into American theaters (and VOD) this July. Magnolia Pictures, which acquired the film at Sundance, has released the theatrical poster:
I think it captures the film’s commercial sensibility rather well; this could be the poster for a Judd Apatow movie. The big question will be, is the film’s man-on-man subject matter going to keep narrow-minded viewers away? Hopefully not. Because, as David Carr’s quoted on the poster, this is an indie film that’s as universal as any current studio comedy. I highly recommend checking it out.
