One world. One week. One festival. The always popular Manhattan Short Film Festival returns to Enzian next month for its 12th incarnation and what promises to be another great program of 12 of the best international and domestic shorts around. Of course what’s always so cool with this festival is that moviegoers get to participate and vote for their favorite film, and then the votes are sent in from all over the world to Manhattan Short HQ. The Audience Award winner is then announced in New York City at the end of the week on September 29. So global audiences let their voices be heard by selecting the winner, and this year it truly is worldwide–over 500 screenings will take place in more than 170 cities across 5 continents, all during the week of 9/20 – 27, with over 100,000 people expected to take part in this year’s festival.
Enzian is one of only three cinemas in the state to be screening this year’s dynamic dozen, and will actually be the first in Florida when the festival plays on Tuesday night, 9/22, at 6:30 PM. So mark your calendars now to join a global audience and be a judge at the world’s largest short film festival. And be sure to keep check the website after August 20, when the official announcement of the 12 finalists, selected from hundreds of entries, is finally made public.
