FIAF Announces Winter Truffaut Series

The famed French New Wave director Francois Truffaut will be the spotlight of a new series this November and December at New York’s French Institute Alliance Francaise (FIAF). “Francois Truffaut: A Winter Portrait” will run Tuesdays throughout the winter. All films will play throughout the day at 12:30PM, 4:00PM, and 7:30PM. The series’ calendar is: “Mississippi Mermaid” (November 3), “The Wild Child” (November 10), “Two English Girls” (November 17), “Small Change” (November 24), “The Story of Adele H.” (December 1), “The Man Who Loved Women” (December 8), “A Gorgeous Girl Like Me” (December 15), and “The Last Metro” (December 22). The 7:30 screening of “A Gorgeous Girl Like Me” will feature a Q&A moderated by Elliott Stein with star Bernadette Lafont, who will talk about the film and her work with Truffaut. [Bryce Renninger]
