Famously afraid of flying, “Antichrist” director Lars von Trier has nevertheless appeared via satellite link in Toronto in September and most recently at the New York Film Festival to talk about his new film, which has polarized festival audiences.
indieWIRE has scheduled some “face time” with von Trier via Skype next week, and we’d like you to help us with the interview. Do you have a question for Lars von Trier? Then send it to indieWIRE at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We only have a limited time with von Trier, the director who styled himself “the best director in the world” earlier this year in Cannes, but we’re picking the 10 best questions from indieWIRE readers for our conversation. Writers of the ten best questions will receive an “Antichrist” poster for your efforts. Please submit questions for consideration no later than Tuesday, October 13th at 9 a.m., ET.
Von Trier’s “Antichrist” is the story of a grieving couple who retreat to their cabin in the woods, “Eden,” hoping to repair their broken hearts and troubled marriage. But, nature takes its course and things evolve badly. The film stars Willem Dafoe and Charlotte Gainsbourg in what has already become one of the most talked about and loved & hated films of the year. IFC Films will open the film uncut in the U.S. (despite what some foreign newspapers have said) on October 23.
