Whistler Film Festival to Honor Reitman

The Whistler Film Festival will honor Canadian director/producer Ivan Reitman with a special lifetime achievement tribute on December 4.

The director of “Meatballs,” “Stripes” and “Ghostbusters,” Reitman has also produced such films as “Animal House,” Atom Egoyan’s “Chloe,” and Jason Reitman’s “Up In the Air.” In addition, Reitman will also attend the festival as the 2009 Borsos Jury President.

“The Borsos Competition is a unique event that recognizes passionate and bold Canadian filmmakers,” said Reitman in a statement. “The competition provides emerging talent with a much needed platform for their creativity and I am thrilled to be a part of it.”
