LA Weekly’s Scott Foundas has been named Associate Program Director at the Film Society of Lincoln Center, Executive Director Mara Manus will announce today. He is filling the position left by the recent departure of Kent Jones and will serve as deputy to Film Society Program Director Richard Peña.
“Scott’s writing is an exhilarating dialogue with artists and audiences alike,” Manus said, in a statement. “It is this vibrancy, along with Scott’s deep film knowledge, that will contribute greatly to our growing organization, ensuring we continue to offer (audiences) a vital place of serious film culture. We welcome him to this new role.”
Foundas joined LA Weekly two years ago and served as Film Editor and Chief Film Critic. He was also a member of the selection committee for the New York Film Festival and previously wrote for Variety and has a degree in Cinema and Television Studies from USC in Los Angeles. [Eugene Hernandez]
