Paste Mag: "City of God," "Amelie," & "Almost Famous" are Best Movies of Decade

List season is officially underway.

Fernando Meirelles’s “City of God” has topped Paste Magazine’s best movies of the decade list. The roster of the fifty top films was published online today from the magazine staff. “City of God” was followed by “Amelie” at #2 and “Almost Famous” at #3.

“Despite the wild variety among our 50 Best Movies from 2000-2009, each is an exquisitely made, exceptionally satisfying piece of cinema that we believe will endure well after the decade has ended,” Paste editor-in-chief Josh Jackson said today.

Yesterday, Paste posted its best fifty albums of the decade list and on Sunday, the best fifty internet memes of the decade. [Eugene Hernandez]
