Pusan West to Launch at CA's Chapman University

The Pusan International Film Festival is teaming with Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts to launch a showcase that will bring select Korean films and filmmakers from the festival to the U.S., Dodge College Dean Bob Bassett and PIFF Director Lee Yong-Kwan unveiled today. The inaugural Chapman University | Pusan West | Filmmaker Showcase (“Chapman Pusan West”) will be held at Marion Knott Studios on Chapman University’s campus in Orange, Calif., November 20-22, 2009. Ten new titles are on tap in addition to two retrospect screenings. Highlights include Park Chan-wook’s “Thirst,” Bong Joon-ho’s “Mother” and Na Hong-jin’s “The Chaser.” Additionally, Park will be present to receive the inaugural Chapman Pusan West’s first “Pusan West Icon Award.” [Brian Brooks]
