The Generally Boring Golden Globes Nominations

The Generally Boring Golden Globes Nominations

Full list of the 2009 Golden Globe nominations here, with some rushed commentary from yours truly. Here’s a quick top ten best/worst to supplement:

Ten Best Things
1. “Where The Wild Things Are” for score
2. “District 9” for best screenplay
3. Only one nod for “The Lovely Bones”
4. Michael Stuhlbarg for best actor
5. “The Maid” for best foreign film
6. “Invictus”‘s best picture snub
7. Gabby and Mo’Nique (though did we doubt this?)
8. Julia Roberts for “Duplicity.” Starfucking to be sure, but that film was really underappreciated.
9. Vera Farmiga not being snubbed for some starfucking “Nine”
10. Matt Damon for best actor

Ten Worst Things
1. “A Serious Man” snub in best comedy or musical
2. Tobey Maguire over Viggo Mortensen and Jeremy Renner
3. “It’s Complicated”‘s screenplay nod over a half dozen more worthy titles
4. “Baaria” for best foreign film
5. “Cinema Italiano” over “Take It All” for “Nine” in the song category
6. Complete “Bright Star” shut-out
7. Eastwood’s director nod
8. Marion Cotillard category fraud
9. “The Hangover” for best picture
10. Matt Damon for best supporting actor

And just a braggarty FYI.. my predictions were not too shabby.
