"Weather" Screens at Climate Change Summit

Copenhagen’s CPH:DOX film festival, in in collaboration with Hopenhagen LIVE, will present several documentaries during the COP15 UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, which kicks off today.

Among the lineup of films, which deal with the planet’s condition, how to manipulate the weather, the responsibility of large-scale industry, and the role of environmental activists, are Robert Greene’s documentary, “Owning The Weather,” a “portrait of the business of weather and the controversial practice of weather modification.” In conjunction with the Hopenhagen screening of “Owning The Weather,” the film will premiere on Cable VOD in North America starting on December 7 via Cinetic Rights Management’s FilmBuff channel. The film will be available on cable systems such as Verizon FIOS, Cox, Charter, and more. Later in December, the film will be made available on iTunes and Amazon VOD, as well as more broadband destinations in the new year.

“It’s an honor to be involved with something as important as COP15 and Hopenhagen LIVE,” said “Owning The Weather” director Robert Greene in a statement. “To bring the film to that stage, while also debuting here in the U.S., gives us a chance to start talking about geoengineering and weather modification in a real and significant way.”

The program at Hopenhgaen LIVE also includes Franny Armstrong’s “The Age of Stupid,” The Yes Men’s “The Yes Men Fix the World,” and “Climate of Change,” produced by the same team responsible for Al Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth.”
