Reed Cowan’s doc “8: The Mormon Proposition” premiered yesterday in Sundance. I’ll have more on the film on indieWIRE later today (though I’ll say now I found it a bit too amateur and poorly constructed to really recommend, even if it does pack a considerable emotional punch despite this), but here’s video of the entire Q&A… including special appearances by San Francisco mayor Gavin Newsom and “Milk” man Dustin Lance Black. It was a pretty intense twenty minutes… emotions ran quite high and the audience – many of whom were mormons or ex-mormons – obviously had been left quite affected by the doc.
