The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) – which had announced its “long list” of nominees last week – set the final five for its Orange Rising Star Award today. The award “recognizes five international actors and actresses who have demonstrated exceptional talent and have begun to capture the imagination of the public as a star in the making,” and the winner is voted upon by the public.
The nominees are:
Surprisingly missing are both homegrown Katie Jarvis and “Precious”‘s Gabourey Sidibe, while Eisenberg’s nod is strange considering he’s been around for quite some time.
Previous winners of the award include James McAvoy, Eva Green, Shia LaBeouf and Noel Clarke.
