Baumbach, Vinterberg Round out Berlin Competition

Twenty-six films will screen in competition at the upcoming Berlin International Film Festival. In addition to the seven competition films announced last month including Roman Polanski’s latest, “The Ghost Writer,” 18 titles were unveiled Wednesday. Twelve world premieres from around the world among the latest crop will screen in the festival’s 60th anniversary competition section, with the remainder being international debuts. Sundance 2010 U.S. Documentary feature, “Howl” by Rob Epstein and Jeffery Friedman will screen in the section along with the international premiere of Nicole Holofcener’s “Please Give,” Lisa Cholodenko’s “The Kids Are All Right,” Michael Winterbottom’s “The Killer Inside Me” and the world premiere of Noah Baumbach’s “Greenberg.”

Berlinale opening film “Tuan Yuan” (Apart Together) and closing title, “Otouto” (About Her Brother) by Yoji Yamada are also screening in the section. Note: The Berlinale competition section includes films screening “in” and “out” of competition.
