Cinema Eye Honors on January 15

The third annual Cinema Eye Honors will be awarded on Friday, January 15 in New York City (tickets are available for the public). Bumped up two months this year, the awards will honor the best in documentary film from 2009, with an eye towards indie productions that may not have traditional distribution yet. Winners are determined primarily from votes by leading festival programmers. The nominees for “Outstanding Achievement in Nonfiction Feature Filmmaking” are: Loot, Burma VJ, Food Inc., The Cove, and October Country. You too can vote, for the “Audience Choice Prize,” by clicking here. There are a slew of unorthodox nominees for the Cinema Eye Honors, which is the only major awards ceremony to honor the best in music, editing, graphic design, and cinematography for nonfiction feature films.
