'Terribly Happy' in February

Henrik Ruben Genz’s Terribly Happy, the Danish submission for this year’s foreign-language Oscar, will have a hard time getting a nomination when they’re revealed on February 2. It faces some stiff competition this year, up against the likes of The White Ribbon, Ajami, Samson and Delilah, I Killed My Mother, A Prophet, Baaria, and Mother. (UPDATE: Only minutes after I posted this, the Academy announced the films that made the shortlist and Terribly Happy is not among them.) Regardless, you’ll have a chance to catch this dark thriller when Oscilloscope brings it stateside next month. Terribly Happy deserves your attention, and it stands a chance of becoming a cult favorite. Check out the U.S. trailer:
