Time Warner Cable and Fox Strike New Deal

The LAT reports that the impasse between Time Warner Cable and News Corp has been broken:

Time Warner Cable and Fox reach deal to keep channels on cable systems

Media giant News Corp. has struck a new deal that will keep its Fox-owned television stations — including KTTV Channel 11 and KCOP-TV Channel 13 in Los Angeles — and several of its cable networks on Time Warner Cable systems. The agreement was reached late Friday afternoon well after the current contract between the two companies expired at midnight Thursday. Both sides initially agreed to a three-hour extension after midnight hit the East Coast, and then they just kept on extending.

UPDATE: Here’s more detail from Variety’s Cynthia Littleton. She also displayed her acumen about the biz, along with the LAT’s John Horn, on Kim Masters’ year-end wrap episode of The Business last week. They’re returning to KCRW to forecast the year ahead on Monday at 2:30 PM.
