I don’t have VH1, and I assume many of you don’t either, but this MTV-affiliated website has a strange feed that is very reliable, though for some reason is mostly choppy live footage of various people in the audience. I’m not sure if its a mistake, but it’s somewhat entertaining. Probably more so that it would be on regular television as Kristen Chenoweth is proving a horrendous host and so are most of the presenters.
Via the live feed you do catch some really candid moments:
There was a good 5 minutes of Meryl Streep simply sitting a table chatting to friend, seeming exactly as lovely as we all suspect her to be… A Jonas Brother of some kind freaking out to Matt Damon about god knows what… Sandra Bullock consoling Young Actor/Actress nominee Jae Head after he lost his category, and then later talking him through some lamely dirty jokes care of presenter Sarah Silverman… Jason Reitman looking stony and pissed off while Kathryn Bigelow accepted her best director award… Julianne Moore gushing at Jeff Bridges’ speech even though he beat out her “Single Man” bff Colin Firth… Morgan Freeman freaking out to his tablemate when Jeff Bridges accidentally called “Crazy Heart” director Scott Cooper Chris Cooper, and then looking like was about to fall asleep through the rest of it.
You can hear the winners and their speeches just fine. You just can’t see them.
There’s also an up to date list of winners at indieWIRE.
