Media Watch: TimesCast Debuts

The venerable NYT is trying to keep up with changing times via a daily video TimesCast, which is not unlike Fox’s entertaining TMZ newsroom, but instead of Harvey Levin and his junior celebrity hounds, we get NYT editor Bill Keller and his well-informed senior staff. Why supply their best journalists to feed Charlie Rose’s viewership when the NYT can catch more online traffic?

I love this behind-the-scenes taste of what goes on at the NYT. It invites people in, luring them to dig deeper into the site. (Needless to say, they’re selling ads, too.)
