Oscar Red Carpet: Winding Down

Oscar Red Carpet: Winding Down

It’s getting late enough so that the stars are going by and not stopping. Carey Mulligan, Kathryn Bigelow and Vera Farmiga went breezing by. It’s a real crunch.

Thinning now, as the Sony gang went by: Howard Stringer, Michael Barker and Tom Bernard, who will likely win something as three of the foreign nominees are theirs: front runner “White Ribbon,” “A Prophet” and the possible upset candidate “The Secret of Their Eyes.”

Jason Reitman writer and director of “Up in the Air” took his father Ivan as  his date to the Oscars for the first time when he was nominated for “Juno.” Now he’s here as the producer of “Up in the Air.”

I flip-cammed the director of “The Cove” who says the mistreatment of animals is a widespread global issue and hopes an Oscar will persuade people to get over their resistance to seeing the film.
