Chicago International Film Festival Honors Ron Howard

Director Ron Howard (“A Beautiful Mind,” “Cinderella Man”) will be awarded the Silver Hugo Career Achievement Award at the 46th Chicago International Film Festival, it was announced today.

Howard will receive the award during the festival’s annual Summer Gala on June 12th at the Museum of Science and Industry.

“For the better part of four decades, Ron Howard has maintained a reputation as one of the world’s most admired directors,” said Michael Kutza, Artistic Director of the festival. “He has mastered all genres including action spectaculars, moving dramas, chilling thrillers, and character-driven comedies.”

Past recipients of the award include: Steven Spielberg, Orson Welles, Francois Truffaut and Clint Eastwood.
