"RUSH" Doc Early Favorite For Tribeca Audience Award

Scot McFadyen and Sam Dunn’s doc “RUSH: Beyond the Lighted Stage” is looking like an early favorite to win the Tribeca Film Festival’s audience award. According to Tribeca’s web site, which tracks audience votes on a day-to-day basis, “RUSH” is currently leading all films with four days remaining remaining in the fest. The film is a comprehensive exploration of the history of the famed Canadian band, from their early days growing up in Toronto, through each of their landmark albums, to the present day.

Close behind “RUSH” are another doc, “Arias With A Twist: The Docufantasy,” which finds director Bobby Sheehan collaborating with cabaret and drag artist Joey Arias and master puppeteer Basil Twist, and Robert Kirbyson’s narrative “Snowmen,” about a a 10-year-old boy from a wintry mountain town.
