Cannes Debuts "Queer Palm" Award

It was a really only a matter of time, I suppose (though it feels a bit follower for a fest of Cannes’ statue), but nearly 25 years after Berlin did it, Cannes has finally gone queer: For this year’s fest, a jury will hand out the “queer palm,” an award given to the best LGBT film at the festival. The award will be handed out next Saturday, May 22nd, and suspect will got a little something like this:


Though I could be totally ignorant to other possibilities (my Cannesian absence this year has made me a little rusty in that regard).
