Cinéfranco Announces Best Francophone Films

Toronto’s Cinéfranco, the largest celebration of international francophone cinema held in English-speaking Canada, announced its winners this past weekend. The festival, which ran from March 26 through April 3, 2010, included 12 Canadian premieres, 10 English Canadian premieres, a tribute to the Québec nationalist filmmaker Pierre Falardeau, a spotlight on Swiss films, and a panel on Francophone documentary.

The Radio Canada Prize for the audience favorite film went to Jean-Paul Salomé’s “Female Agents.” Laurent Tirard’s “Le Pétit Nicolas” received the TFO award for best youth film.
