Jay and Mark Duplass’s “Cyrus,” released through Fox Searchlight, has shifted its release date. Originally slated for July 9th, the film will now open in limited release 3 weeks earlier on June 18, 2010, expanding in the weeks to follow.
The film follows John (John C. Reilly), a down-on-his luck film editor whose life takes a significant and strange turn when he becomes romantically involved with Molly (Marisa Tomei), a woman with an unusually close bond with her 21-year old son Cyrus (Jonah Hill). “Cyrus” was featured prominently within indieWIRE’s list of the summer’s “must see films”.
