Foresight Unlimited will be selling “Universal Soldier IV,” “Recoil,” “The Ledge,” and “Flypaper” at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival.
They announced today that Jean-Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren will be reuniting for the action thriller Universal Soldier IV to be shot in 3D. The film will be directed by John Hyams (Universal Soldier: Regeneration) and begin shooting in October 2010.
Mark Steven Johnson (Ghost Rider, Daredevil) has been tapped to direct the $35 million “Recoil”, which begins shooting in November 2010. The film follows a former FBI sniper who accidentally killed a child and haunted by guilt, retires from fieldwork. Years later, a mysterious sniper sets out on a killing spree targeting the Ambassador’s deputy, who happens to be the FBI sniper’s ex-wife. He is immediately called back and discovers the key to saving his ex-wife’s life lies buried in his own past and that he must overcome his biggest fear to stop the killer.
Foresight recently wrapped production on “The Ledge” starring Terrence Howard (Iron Man, Crash, Hustle & Flow), Liv Tyler (The Hulk, Lord of the Rings), Patrick Wilson (The A-Team, Hard Candy, Little Children) and Charlie Hunnam (Cold Mountain, Children of Men and the highly popular FX series Sons of Anarchy). The suspense drama is directed and written by Matthew Chapman (Runaway Jury) and produced by Michael Mailer (Two Guys and a Girl) and Mark Damon (Monster, The Upside of Anger).
“The Ledge,” meanwhile, revolves around a man who stands on the ledge of a high-rise building determined to take his own life. When a detective shows up to try and talk the man down, the jumper realizes that the detective just suffered his own life-shattering experience. Foresight will be showing footage from the film in their Cannes office.
“We have a very diverse but commercial film slate,” said Foresight Unlimited’s Mark Damon in a statement. “We have secured a group of talented filmmakers and look forward to making announcements regarding casting in the coming weeks.”
Foresight Unlimited’s next production is the Patrick Dempsey (Enchanted, Grey’s Anatomy) starrer “Flypaper” Written by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, the writers of The Hangover, production begins on June 7 in Louisiana. The film centers on a man who is caught in the middle of two simultaneous robberies and desperately tries to protect the teller with whom he’s secretly in love.
