Joan Chen Among Three Female Helmers “Seeing Red”

Joan Chen Among Three Female Helmers "Seeing Red"

The female-centric, female-helmed omnibus project “Seeing Red,” produced by Joyce Pierpoline and Richard Lormand (“Happy Tears,” “Teeth”), has signed on Joan Chen to star and direct in one of its three parts, all of which focus on revenge in NYC’s Chinatown. Chen, who will play a doting housewife who discovers her husband has been leading a double life, joins first-time helmet Liselle Mei, and an as yet unconfirmed third female director on the project. “Seeing Red,” budgeted between $4-6 million, is scheduled to begin principal photography in the late Fall with a mixed Chinese and US cast.
