American born, living in Paris, Argentina and New Orleans, Richard Lormand only handles films that play major festivals such as Cannes, Toronto, Berlin, Venice, San Sebastian and on occasion others. He dips his toe into production occasionally and has produced Lucky Llife, Happy Tears, Teeth.

Richard Lormand and his dog Tina have been on an exclusive loop of festivals for 14 years. Publicists have one of the busiest and most thankless jobs around as they work behind the scenes to bring the glamor and fun that this mythologized business of film is known for. But what they are really doing is making the buzz, creating the awareness of the films so that press, film buyers and eventually the end users – the public – will want to spend precious time watching their films.

Richard limits his work to the top festivals such as Berlin, Venice, Toronto, Cannes, sometimes Karlovy Vary and San Sebastian, and he limits his work to what he considers the best. His taste must be correct because his films go on to win the top prizes. He now has a treasured staff as well who are helping him during this, the busiest of seasons with these films
