Robson Takes Over New Movie Initiatives at MTV

As I previously reported, AOL Moviefone editor-in-chief Scott Robson has landed on his feet at MTV as VP of New Movie Initiatives. Robson will oversee new movie-related projects at MTV Music Group’s MTV.com and VH1.com to enhance and expand movie-related content. He reports to MTV Networks Music & Logo exec vp Dermot McCormack.

MTV Music Groups puts on the annual MTV Movie Awards, which will premiere live on MTV on June 6, hosted by comedian Aziz Ansari. MTV’s website hosts the MTV Movies blog and VH1’s TheFABlife.com, which covers movie news; VH1’s also mounts a live telecast of the annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards.
A vet entertainment journalist, Robson created and launched The Envelope website for the LAT and was founding editor for E! Online.
