Silverdocs Announces Full 2010 Slate

Silverdocs revealed the balance of its 2010 line up this week, following earlier announcements of their gala and spotlight slates. The festival’s Shorts and Silver Spectrum round out the program, featuring premieres as well as a selection of some of the best films from this past year’s festival circuit, among them recent New Directors/New Films’ title “Bill Cunningham New York;” Sundance alums “Family Affair,” “Waste Land,” and “Restrepo;” IDFA standouts “Last Train Home” and “The Invention of Dr NakaMats;” SXSW winners “Marwencol” and “War Don Don;” Hot Docs’ “The Red Chapel;” and Tribeca’s “The Woodmans” and “The Other City.”

In addition, two new special series will be presented: a Frederick Wiseman retrospective and a “Peacebuilding On Screen” strand organized together with the US Institute of Peace. In total 102 films will be screened, representing 54 countries, from 2,162 submissions. For the full lineup, visit Silverdocs’ website. [Basil Tsiokos]
