“Spooner” at the Market

"Spooner" at the Market

Drake Doremus’ (most recently helmer of Sundance 2010’s “Douchebag”) romantic comedy “Spooner” has been added to the Cannes Market slate of Moving Pictures Film & Television (MPF&TV). The film, starring Matthew Lillard (“Scream”) and Nora Zehetner (“Heroes”), has had success on the festival circuit, winning an award at the Newport Beach Film Festival. It follows a used car salesman who faces the worst day of his life on his 30th birthday, forced to move out of his parents’ home, to fight for his job, and to try to prevent the girl he’s just met from leaving town. MPF&TV’s slate also includes fest favorite “Tanner Hall” and romantic comedy “See You in September.” [Basil Tsiokos]
