Harper Lee Doc "Hey Boo" to Celebrate 50 Years of "Mockingbird"

Unlocking the roman à clef “To Kill a Mockingbird” and uncovering the enigmatic Harper Lee are the two tasks of Mary Murphy’s “Hey Boo: Harper Lee and ‘To Kill A Mockingbird’.” The film explores the similarities between the novel and Harper’s life, her father, and her relationship with Truman Capote. It also tries to understand why Lee only finished one novel and why she eventually closed her door to journalists. According to company president Andrew Herwitz, The Film Sales Company has just announced that it has acquired worldwide sales and distribution rights for the film. The film also features interviews with several notable fans of the books, including Oprah Winfrey. Now in post-production, the film will premiere later this year in celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the book’s publication.
