indieScreen is the new bar/restaurant/cinema located in Williamsburg, a neighborhood that has plenty of bars and restaurants, but not yet a cinema. On Thursday night, I stopped by there during the opening night of the Northside Film, the movie sidebar of the Northside Music Festival. The space, which didn’t yet have its bar or restaurant open for business, is great. The theater space fits about 100 people, the seats are comfortable and the screen is big enough. On Thursday night, Northside was showing The Imperialists Are Still Alive! and the Q&A was a breeze (for the audience and the speakers) thanks to the room’s layout. There’s no confirmation yet about what indieScreen will showcase, when there’s not a festival going. Hopefully it’s a mix of new releases and classics, with a bunch of special events through. The most important, thing, however: Williamsburg has a movie theater.
