Koons Doc acquired by Microcinema International

Alison Chernik’s film “The Jeff Koons Show” has been acquired by Microcinema International. “The Jeff Koons Show” is a documentary about the artist Jeff Koons and his influence on the American art world, and the the second feature film directed by Chernik. Her first feature, entitled “Matthew Barney: No Restraint,” profiled video artist Matthew Barney and was theatrically distributed by Weinstein Company and IFC. Chernik describes Microcinema as “the preeminent independent distributors of art and artist-related films,” and says of the aquisition: “I am proud to have my film join the ranks of Robert Rauschenberg, Mike Kelley, Alex Katz, Marina Abramovic, Kiki Smith, Salvador Dalí, and many other great artists.”
