"Shrek" & "Narnia" Collaborators Ink Deal with Bedrock Studios

Andrew Adamson and Aron Warner, who collaborated on all four “Shrek” films and the “Narnia” series, have struck a multi-year deal with Bedrock Studios to develop and co-produce films, particularly franchise films. The two will work through the newly formed company Strange Weather Films. This is the first deal Bedrock Studios has made with a filmmakers’ production company. Strange Weather will be based out of the Bedrock offices in Santa Monica, and will serve as a homebase for the directors that work on Adamson and Warner’s projects. Jeffrey Fierson will serve as Strange Weather’s head of development.

Commenting on the deal, Adamson noted, “Aron and I are excited to embark on this new enterprise with Cary Granat and the team at Bedrock. Their commitment to creating an environment for writers and directors to explore new and innovative ways of approaching broad-based entertainment is something we are proud to be a part of.” Granat, whose company will provide funds up front for the Strange Weather projects, added, “Ed and I and the entire Bedrock team are thrilled to call ourselves Andrew and Aron’s partners and will do all we can to support Strange Weather in becoming an industry leader and a real shining light in the entertainment industry. These are two of the greatest talents working in our industry today.”
