Slamdance and Adobe Systems Incorporated today announced that they have joined forces to run the first annual Re-Cut Film Competition, open to emerging editing talent, including film students. To enter, entrants have to re-edit a scene from David Greenspan’s “Mall Cop.”
“Bringing industry and academia together through real-world experiences like Slamdance demonstrates Adobe’s commitment to prepare students for the professional world, both inside and outside of the classroom,” said Adobe’s Megan Stewart, director of worldwide higher education. “David Greenspan’s contribution and participation gives students a unique opportunity to showcase their editing talent.”
The grand prize winner will win a free trip to Slamdance 2011 to see their work screened at the festival.
Competition registration is now open and closes on October 1, 2010.
