This July MoMA and the Rio de Janeiro International Film Festival will pair up for the eighth annual Premiere Brazil! festival. Screenings will premiere 11 new features and 4 new shorts by Brazilian filmmakers to New York audiences, along with two classic works from director Carlos Diegeus. The festival opens on July 15th with Lucy Walker’s “Waste Land,” a documentary on contemporary artist Vik Muniz’s trip to a Rio de Janeiro landfill, and runs until July 29th.
