I found Dinner For Schmucks very disappointing. There are some hilarious moments, and a few tremendous performances, but things do not gel. The second act is very strong, but the first and third acts, are tedious. Steve Carell is very good, Lucy Punch is quite memorable, and Jemaine Clement steals the show. But not all of the talented cast is put to good use. Zach Galifianakis, for example, is completely wasted. However, in this episode of his online chat show “Between Two Ferns,” Galifianakis interviews Carell, and what happens is easily funnier than 50% of the film they are promoting:
