LuPone and Mitchell Headed to Broadway for Adaptation of Almodovar's "Women"

According to Playbill, “Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown,” David Yazbek and Jeffrey Lane’s (“Dirty Rotten Scoundrels”) musical adaptation of the 1988 Pedro Almodóvar film has announced that Broadway legend and Tony-winner Patti Lupone (“Gypsy”) and Tony-winner Brian Stokes Mitchell (“Man of La Mancha”) will star. Also slated to star are Sherie Rene Scott, Danny Burstein, and de’Adre Aziza. The show, directed by Tony Award-winning director Bartlett Sher (“South Pacific”), will begin previews October 2 and will open November 4. The show will be produced on Broadway by the Lincoln Center Theater at the Belasco Theatre.
