In a ceremony Sunday morning at the DGA Theater in West Hollywood, LA’s LGBT Film Festival, Outfest, announced the award winners for their 28th annual fest. The ceremony, hosted by LA drag queen Momma, focused on celebrating films that uncovered stories that have not yet been told. The fest honored “A Marine Story” with three awards (Best U.S. Feature, Best Actress, and the Feature Audience Award). Ned Farr’s film, a searing indictment of the military’s Don’t Ask Don’t Tell policy stars Dreya Weber as a tough recently discharged servicewoman who must mentor a young woman who, in dire straits, must join the military.
