Philadelphia Film Festival Announces New Director and Programmers

The Philadelphia Film Society announced on Sunday their new Artistic Director, Michael Lerman, who previously served as their Director of Programming. In addition, Tom Quinn and Ryan Werner were announced as new programmers for the 19th Philadelphia Film Festival (October 14-24). All three (Lerman, Quinn and Werner) previously worked together as programmers for the Woodstock Film Festival.

Quinn currently serves as Senior VP of Magnolia Pictures and Magnet Releasing. As a programmer he’s previously worked for the Atlanta Film Festival. Werner is the Senior Vice President of Marketing at IFC Entertainment. Prior to his time at IFC, Werner was the Head of Theatrical Distribution at Wellspring and Palm Pictures, and in 2006 received The Hollywood Reporter’s Next Gen Award.

“We’re thrilled to have Tom and Ryan come aboard as our programmers for the Philadelphia Film Festival,” said Andrew Greenblatt, Executive Director of the Philadelphia Film Society. “Both Tom and Ryan have years of experience curating for other great festivals and have built a fantastic reputation through the quality of their programming.”
