Sundance to Host First Ever ShortsLab Day Long Event

The Sundance Institute will host its first-ever short film workshop, ShortsLab: LA, on July 31st at the Downtown Independent Theater in Los Angeles. The event is billed as an all-day educational workshop where emerging filmmakers will gain access into the world of story development, production, and exhibition of short films through first-hand interactions with accomplished filmmakers and Sundance Alumni Miguel Arteta (“The Good Girl”), Peter Sollet (“Raising Victor Vargas”), and Jay Duplass (“Cyrus”). Panelists that will be attending the event include representatives from The Directors Bureau, Fox Digital Studios, Funny or Die, Paramount Pictures, SAGIndie and YouTube, to name a few. In addition, Sundance Film Festival shorts programmers will be on hand to give one-on-one feedback to ShortsLab attendees who submit their shorts to the 2011 Sundance Film Festival.
