The Wall Street Journal‘s All Things Digital blog is reporting that David Fincher’s feature film on the story of Facebook’s beginnings, “The Social Network,” is barred from advertising on the site. Though representatives for the site note that Sony never submitted an advertising proposal, Sony representative Steve Elzer, Executive Vice President of Media Relations said, “Facebook’s advertising guidelines don’t allow ads to reference the company unless Facebook has cooperated with the object of the ad.
